Progress is being made on our new Operations and Training Center expansion. We’re utilizing land that’s been in our possession for decades beside the main office for our new expansion project to enhance member service.

Northeast Community Credit Union is excited to announce an expansion project in Elizabethton to help support increased demand.

“This project has been in the planning stages for nearly a year and is getting off to a very productive start,” said Credit Union President/CEO Teresa Arnold. “Our growth in recent years has been tremendous.  The increased member traffic and related transaction processing clearly requires additional space for our operations.”  Arnold says expansion and remodeling plans will result in enhanced service for members including upgraded drive-thru areas and additional offices for loans, debit cards, electronic services, and account processing.  “With our roots in education and ongoing involvement in local schools and colleges, we’ve built reliable relationships with staff, students, and young adults.  Many people open their accounts online and conduct much of their business remotely, however, when it comes to things more personal such as buying a car, borrowing for a home, or investing hard-earned money, most prefer having a knowledgeable ‘live’ person to talk to.  At Northeast Community Credit Union, we will continue giving area residents and small businesses the very best options available; people trust us and feel confident turning to us, and we’re honored to serve them.”

The Credit Union’s volunteer Board of Directors has a steady focus on conservatively providing every financial service anyone needs, most at low or no cost, and is proud to govern one of the healthiest credit unions in the USA.  Northeast Community Credit Union has been recognized in the top 2% nationwide for its safety and strength. “We’ve been firmly planted in this area for a long time; folks around here know us, know how involved we are, and can see we’re dedicated to investing our time and resources in local non-profits, education, and other worthy causes.  We’ve been committed to the people in this community for more than seventy years because our hearts are here: we prove it every day through the hours we devote and the sponsorships we provide,” says Arnold.

Northeast Community Credit Union was chartered in 1952 as Elizabethton Teachers Credit Union.  The main office is located at 980 Jason Witten Way behind Elizabethton High School; branch offices are located at 8301 Hwy 19E in Roan Mountain, at 1321 Hwy 19E in Elizabethton, and at 313 W. Oakland Ave in Johnson City. It serves those in Carter, Johnson, Unicoi, Sullivan, and Washington counties.
