Northeast Community Credit Union Hosted Free Lunch Honoring First Responders on September 11
Meal recognizes local heroes on Patriot Day and the National Day of Service and Remembrance
Northeast Community Credit Union hosted a complimentary hot dog lunch for local first responders on Friday, September 11. Firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency medical personnel,
dispatchers, health care workers and other first responders were invited to attend.
The lunch was held in observance of Patriot Day and the National Day of Service and Remembrance, offering the community an opportunity to remember those lost on the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, and to recognize the courage, service, and sacrifice of first responders.
“September 11 is a day to remember, reflect, and serve,” said David LeVeau, NCCU President and CEO. “As we remember the September 11 terror attack on our county 25 years ago, let us remember not only those that lost their lives during and since then, but those first responders who continue to sacrifice time with their families to serve us and protect the freedoms we enjoy and often take for granted every day. This lunch is a simple way to thank the men and women who answer the call every day and help keep our community safe.”
NCCU provided over 200 meals on Friday to area first responders, prepared and served by NCCU employees.
